5 Must-Have Shoes for Fall

It’s finally that time of year again – fall! This is my favorite time of the year. It’s not just the beautiful New England foliage or pumpkin spice lattes either; fall weather brings out the best in fashion!

From cozy knit sweaters, boyfriend jeans, and scarves there is nothing I don’t love about fall. However, if I had to pick a favorite, mine would definitely be fall shoes! I just LOVE boots and all the other cold-weather feet accessories. That is why I’ve made a list of my top 5 essential shoes you need this Fall for a complete wardrobe.

1. A pair of converse (or even Keds) sneakers. [Shop here]

These technically could be worn year-round, but I think they really look best during the fall. I like to wear a pair of converse with ripped jeans and a baggy sweater for a look that’s “effortlessly” cool. Not to mention, these shoes are super comfy and can be worn with practically anything. I’ve worn them with dresses and skater skirts before; They add a hipster flair. I prefer white converse but you could wear any color.

2. Combat Boots [Shop Here for the Black ones, Shop Here for the Brown]

These style boots have been trending for awhile now, but they are still a great pair of boots to own! I love that combat boots are really versatile. I’ve worn mine with jeans, leggings, joggers, skirts, dresses – you name it I’ve probably tried it. They’re also versatile in that they can be made to look preppy or edgy, it all depends on how you wear them. These are a staple in my wardrobe.

3. A flat pair of booties [Shop here for brown, Shop here for nude]

I know these boots aren’t always for everyone – the one’s I’ve selected have a vintage, slightly hipster feel – but flat booties could look like more than just what I’ve chosen. They’re perfect for casual wear and can really dress up a basic outfit. I personally like to wear them with jeans and a plain t-shirt. It’s simple, but still stylish.

4. Lace-up Bootie (Heel or Wedge) [Shop here for black, Shop here for brown]

I own a pair of black lace up wedges and I wear them at least three times a week. They are the perfect going out pair of shoes for the fall – they’re comfortable and keep your feet warmer than your typical pair of stilettos. I really like the lace-up booties over the basic high-heeled bootie because I think the detail makes it dressier and a little bit more unique. I’m a fan of things with an edge. I’ve recently worn these with an acid-wash skater skirt and white crop top, as well as with jeans and a blouse.

5. Riding Boots [Shop here for black, Shop here for brown]

What would a fall shoe guide be without a classic pair of riding boots? I recommend getting riding boots in at least a black and a brown shade, but the more colors the better. This is the shoe I undoubtably wear most often, and I’m sure most of you would agree! My favorite way to wear them is with jeans or leggings and a sweater, but they can be worn with dresses too! Out of all the shoes on this list, the riding boot is definitely the most essential pair of shoes to own.
